MEET JÚLIO CÉSAR PETRINI

About

My name is Júlio César Petrini. A traditional illustrator at heart.

Since I was a very young kid I developed a huge interest in everything related to illustration and art in general. My mom used to say the first words I said when I was born were "I want to be an illustrator". That's of course a joke she created just to express how commited I was on learning how to draw since my first steps.

I was very lucky to grow up in a very supportive family, and at the age of 12, with my mom's encouragement, I started to take art classes in many courses such as Comic Book Illustration, Character's Anatomy, Comic Book Storytelling, and also painting courses to support my creativity addressing many techniques, such as Watercolour, Gouache, Acrylics, Markers, Coloured Pencils and Oils.

When I was 18, I came to a point where everyone ask themselves a question to take an important decision: What should I do now? Well, I knew exactly what path I should take, so I joined the University of Fine Arts.
During my graduation years, I've learned and studied many different and interesting subjects, and I decided to be focused on some of the techniques I loved the most: Watercolour and Gouache.

After my graduation in Fine Arts, I started to work as a Book illustrator for small publishing industries and also as a Visual Artist and UX/UI Designer working for Packaging, Advertising, Banking and Gaming industries.

I have a cozy Illustration studio at home, which I named MindSketch Studio, and here is where I create illustrations and bring the wonders of imagination for children books, book covers, commissions and any kind of art related thing.
